Accretion 1 donated January 2005 also by Ms. McDermott.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Copyright<\/strong>: This collection may be protected from unauthorized copying by the Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Historical\/Biographical Sketch<\/strong>: The Southwest Region of the USDA&#8217;s Food and Nutrition Service originally operated in the states of Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Later, the Southwest Region was trimmed to include only Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. As featured in this collection, there are documents pertaining to private, as well as public, school lunch programs. Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas currently have both public and private USDA offices for school lunches.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scope and Content<\/strong>:\u00a0The collection contains documents concerning national School Lunch and Child Nutrition programs in the USDA&#8217;s Southwest Region. There are numerous documents concerning financial management of school lunch programs, including training manuals for instructors of financial management seminars. The Southwest Region&#8217;s papers focus heavily on school lunch programs in Texas private schools. Most of the promotional materials in the collection come from the USDA. There are also newspaper clippings throughout the collection. The materials arrived with some files in order.
