Aleshia Hall-Campbell, Ph.D., M.P.H., is the Executive Director of the Institute of Child Nutrition (ICN), located at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. ICN is the only federally-funded national center dedicated to applied research, education and training, and technical assistance for child nutrition programs. The Institute’s mission is to provide evidence-based information, services, and support that advance child nutrition programs equitably across the United States and the territories.
Dr. Hall-Campbell provides visionary leadership and administrative oversight of all ICN’s activities that include serving as a Principal Investigator with a portfolio of over $30+ million in active multiple-year grants and cooperative agreements funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. During her tenure as Executive Director, she has received record funding levels of grants and cooperative agreements; increased outreach efforts; improved organizational effectiveness and staff morale; and diversified ICN’s staff, cadre of consultants, and training offerings.

Dr. Hall-Campbell has over 20+ years of experience in public health education and workforce development, program planning, evaluation, and grants management. She is a nationally recognized expert in designing and implementing research-based professional development opportunities for diverse adult learners and audiences. She has forged and sustained partnerships with child nutrition stakeholders and allied organizations across the country. She has demonstrated proven success in providing leadership and administrative oversight of a national Institute with solid experience in creating and managing complex budgets, programs, and national strategic initiatives. She is an effective communicator with a wealth of experience in facilitating and building consensus among diverse groups of stakeholders.

Dr. Hall-Campbell has a B.S. from Jackson State University, an M.P.H. from the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Mississippi. She completed the Yale University’s School of Management Women’s Leadership Program, and she has received a certificate in Strategic Planning from Georgetown University.
