Training Culturally Diverse Groups Train-the-Trainer Event will be held on September 18, 2019 at the Institute of Child Nutrition in Oxford, Mississippi.

This event is for district directors and/or district trainers to receive materials and information to provide training in their home districts.

September 18, 2019 – 8:00a – 12:00p – Training Culturally Diverse Groups is part of an ongoing effort by the Institute of Child Nutrition (ICN) to establish and support a national network of trainers.  Therefore, the target audience for this course is anyone who wishes to become a more effective trainer.  The curriculum was designed to assist participants in acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to effectively deliver trainings to culturally diverse groups, as well as encourage further professional development.  ICN also designed this course to be interactive so participants are actively involved in the learning process.

September 18, 2019 – 1:00p – 5:00p – Foundations for Training Excellence: Basics is a seminar that is intended to assist participants in assessing the current level of skill they already possess and to encourage further professional development.  Participants will receive tools and resources they can take back to their workplaces to use immediately.

Participants who complete this session will earn 8 units of continuing education that are credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and the School Nutrition Association.  Codes for USDA Professional Standards are listed on the certificate of completion.

Materials will be provided for each session.  Participant travel expenses will be reimbursed according to ICN’s Participant Travel Policies and Procedures.
