Historical/Biographical Sketch: The Lexington County (South Carolina) School District 3 is located in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. In Spring 1992, former School Food Services Director Pat Holstein and her staff compiled a scrapbook of photographs and articles on their program and submitted it to the South Carolina Department of Education for nomination to the USDA first annual Best Practices Award Program.

Scope and Content: The collection consists of eight folders of photographs, many of which are duplicates; three Project S.I.F.T. (Skill Improvement Foodservice Techniques) binders; and the copied contents of a scrapbook/binder containing newspaper clippings, articles, and photographs submitted for the 1992 USDA “Best Practices” award competition.
