This resource is for those interested in hosting a school and producer meetup and local procurement training event. The first part of this event is a farm to school training for producers and food businesses to learn about selling local products to schools. Simultaneously, school nutrition professionals engage in a separate training focused on local food procurement. Participating schools learn about procurement requirements and factors to consider when purchasing local foods such as the delivery location, size of the product, processing needs, and more. Following the training portion, both groups (producers/food businesses and school nutrition professionals) join to connect in a casual vendor show format.
