This quarter the S.T.A.R. Spotlight is shining on Deb Potter with Prairie Hills USD 113 in Sabetha, Kansas. Brook Brubeck, Prairie Hills USD Food Service Director, shared that Deb was instrumental in getting the principal at her school to participate in the district’s Innovative Breakfast initiative. Deb was a participant in the S.T.A.R. Pilot for Managers in Oxford, Mississippi at ICN last October, and it was one of her action plan goals to get her school involved in the program. Great work, Deb!
All S.T.A.R. Pilot participants are about to finish the 12-month commitment they made! At the six-month virtual instructor-led training (VILT), all 43 participants were still active in the program, even those with job transitions! They had to follow through with their action plans, conduct at least 4 trainings to frontline staff utilizing ICN’s Manager’s Corner curriculum series, participate in the 3-, 6-, and 12-month follow up with their mentors, and participate in and/or view the VILT webinars and trainings. Upon completion, the participants will be rewarded with an exclusive certificate and designation to provide incentive and special recognition for completing all components of the initiative.
