Important Dates to Remember:

  • Wednesday, May 17th – ICN’s current online catalog will be removed and registration for courses will no longer be available until the new eLearning Portal is launched.
  • Wednesday, June 7th – All courses in our current system need to be completed and all certificates downloaded. Access to the current system will end at the close of business on June 7th.
  • Wednesday, June 14th – The new eLearning Portal will launch with the Phase 1 courses.

What happens if I do not finish a course before the launch of the new eLearning Portal?2017-11-09T11:01:45-06:00

You will have until Wednesday, June 7, to finish the course you are taking in the current system. Also, if the course you were taking is in Phase 1, you will have access to restart it in the new eLearning Portal. If you don’t see what you are looking for, you can view the Phase 2 courses which will be added after the rollout of the new system is complete.

What devices will the new system support?2017-11-09T11:01:45-06:00

You will be able to access courses in our eLearning Portal from any internet enabled desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile device.

How do I obtain a new log in for the updated Portal?2017-11-09T11:01:45-06:00

We will send our information about how to create a new profile closer to our launch on June 14, 2017.

Will all of the current online training opportunities eventually be offered in the new eLearning Portal? I have noticed that the offerings in Phase 1 and Phase 2 do not include all of the current training offerings.2017-11-09T11:01:46-06:00

We are going through an extensive review and revise process of all of our online courses. We decided to retire a few courses because of outdated information. We will continue to grow our online course catalog with current, up-to-date topics.

Will I receive notification of new portal website? I’m currently interested in taking classes through the current website. Will I be able to access?2017-11-09T11:01:46-06:00

Yes, we will send out a notification 2 weeks prior to the launch date as a reminder to finish taking courses and retrieving certificates. Then, we will send out an email the day it launches prompting you to create a profile.

Will all of the online courses currently in the ICN online course catalog also be available in the new eLearning Portal?2017-11-09T11:01:47-06:00

The majority of the catalog is being transitioned to the new platform. However, all courses are undergoing a review and revise process to prepare them for the new platform. We will be launching these courses to the new eLearning Portal in phases. Phase 1 will debut in spring of 2017 and includes courses in the following categories: Food Safety, School Nutrition, and General. To see a list of Phase 1 courses, click here. Certificates issued in our current system will not be transferred to the new eLearning Portal.  You will need to log in to your current profile to download and save your certificates.  Instructions on how to do that can be found by downloading the Export-ICN-Certificates instructions.

Will my current profile be moved over to the new eLearning Portal?2017-11-09T11:01:47-06:00

Your current profile will not be moved over to the new eLearning Portal.  Be sure to finish up any courses you are currently taking and download and save all certificates by the close of business June 7, 2017. You can login to your current profile here.  When the new eLearning Portal launches, all users will need to create a new profile beginning Wednesday, June 14.

Why has ICN decided to move to a new eLearning Portal?2017-11-09T11:01:47-06:00

ICN is making the move to a new system to stay abreast of the current technology.  The new eLearning Portal will offer the following new features:

  • Fresh New Look
    The new eLearning Portal will provide a more modern look that is easy on the eyes.
  • Easy Navigation
    The new eLearning Portal will provide an intuitive and easy to use design.
  • Language Translation
    The new eLearning Portal offers Spanish language translation at the system level that can be changed by the user.
  • Searchable Catalog
    The new eLearning Portal has a searchable course catalog that searches keywords in course titles and descriptions. The catalog can also be filtered by Hours of Instruction, Key Areas, and Professional Standards Codes.
  • Mobile Friendly
    The new eLearning Portal incorporates a responsive mobile site and also includes a downloadable app.
  • Offline Playing and Syncing
    Offline playing and syncing means courses are downloadable to be taken when not connected to Wifi. All Course information syncs when the device connects back to Wifi.
  • Social Media Integration
    Social media is integrated into the new eLearning Portal, allowing users to rate and share courses after completion of that course.
  • Gamification
    Gamification is integrated into the new eLearning Portal awarding users for completing courses or a number of courses. A leaderboard encourages friendly competition among users.
  • External Training and Certificates
    The new eLearning Portal will provide an option for users to import external training and certificates into their profile allowing users to keep all training in one location.
  • Notifications
    The new eLearning Portal has the ability to send out notifications to users about new offerings, reminders, and more.
