Training and Professional Development Needs Assessment for State Agency Child Nutrition Professionals Who Work Primarily with School Nutrition Programs

State agencies play a vital role in administering the many programs that fall under Child Nutrition Programs. Because the roles of State agency staff continue to evolve, a current needs assessment was needed. The purpose of this study was to identify and prioritize training needs and to determine preferences for training formats, delivery methods, length of training, and best time of year for training. The study also examined the use of available USDA and ICN educational resources.
